Everyday Parents review the Baby Two Piece Pyjamas
ergoPouch AU
Introducing our new Baby Pyjamas, just like our regular PJs, it has a separate top and bottom but are made in teeny newborn sizes. Now, you might be thinking, “Why PJs for babies when onesies exist?” Simple: as parents ourselves, we know the midnight nappy-change struggle all too well. The separate bottoms make nappy changes quick and easy, while the press-stud top makes dressing and undressing over your baby’s head simple and gentle. So, given it’s a new product on the market, we asked four parents to give it a test run and report back. Here’s what they had to say

"The Baby two piece pyjamas set have been a great addition to our ergoPouch family. Having used ergoPouch since birth for our daughter it’s safe to say we are big fans, and that hasn’t changed since adding the two piece pj set to our collection. Having recently transitioned our daughter to a duvet for nap times and soon to be bedtimes, this has been a great addition to our routine. Our daughter happily grabs her pjs and changes into them before nap and bedtime ( Jersey bag at bedtime on top) the addition of the buttons around the neck is great for ways dressing. Size wise: they are true to size and have a good amount of stretch. The material is soft and hold up very well during washing, no fade or wash wear.
It’s safe to say we do love them and will be adding more to our collection for summertime and continuing our transition out of sleep bags ( legs currently split) to pj’s and a duvet."

"I trialled the ergoPouch 0.2 TOG two piece pyjamas on my 3.5 month old, who weighs around 7.5kg and is on the heavier side for his age. We used them in a room that stayed around 18°C during spring, and I found the TOG rating extremely helpful for confidently dressing him at night without over-layering.
The pyjamas felt beautifully soft and luxurious straight out of the packaging and impressively, they remained that way after multiple washes. They washed really well with no shrinkage, dried quickly, and didn’t lose their softness or structure. Despite the low TOG rating, the fabric doesn’t feel or look thin. The quality really stands out and allowed me to comfortably pair them with our 2.5 TOG and 3.5 TOG sleeping bags without adding unnecessary bulk. My baby tends to sweat under his arms during sleep, so the lightweight, breathable material was a huge plus.
In terms of fit, the sizing worked well overall, though I found the waistband slightly snug. The elastic band felt a bit thin and tight and seemed to dig into his waist, so I’d probably size up next time or would love to see a broader, softer waistband for extra comfort.
The design itself is thoughtful - double buttons to do up after I put the top over his head meant he wasn’t screaming at me. The top is longer which meant it could be tucked into the pants no worries. I LOVE the extra long top. His hands could be covered and the pants come in at the ankles, so he wasn’t screaming very snug and warm!
Compared to other brands we’ve tried, like Bonds, I found these pyjamas to be noticeably softer, better quality through the wash, and thicker in a way that suggests better longevity. While they are priced a little higher than some mainstream baby sleepwear, the quality and TOG rating give me peace of mind…and for that reason, I’d definitely purchase again."

"We are so grateful to have been gifted a pair of ergoPouch's new two piece pyjamas to try with our newborn. We love the cute print matching our favourite sleeping bags.
The fabric is beautifully soft to touch, my baby is happy wearing them and most importantly sleeps well, they have washed well, I really feel that they represent the quality of ergoPouch that we know and love.
As a mum of 4, I’ve really appreciated the speed and ease of nappy changes but no cold or unhappy baby with the separate pants.
I’ve also loved the extra details with the buttons on the shoulder for an easier time dressing my little one yet still nice and snug and safe, as well as the fold over mittens to protect babies precious face, especially as we are transitioning from the cocoon to arms out sleeping, but we can keep her hands closed to minimise sleep disruption.
I love not having to think about what I’m dressing bub in with the added assurance of the tog rating in the pyjamas as well, it is very helpful knowing her pyjamas are suitable and with which sleeping bag for the current temperature for a comfortable sleep not too hot and not too cold.
We will definitely be purchasing more in bigger sizes as she grows, they've quickly become my absolute favourite and preference of pyjamas to dress her in for bed."

"I’m a mum of 5 who lives close to the Victorian ski mountains, every winter it’s freezing so with little babies I like to make sure my children are wearing appropriate pjs to bed so they are warm throughout the night, I was introduced to ergo pouch brand with my first child and it’s the best brand for my little ones, the quality of the pjs are amazing even after washing my first pair of long sleeve pjs have lasted with every child and my new born wears them now, the tog rating is great to build on layers and you know that the child is comfortable wearing them! Always recommend this brand to all my friends"
How did having two piece Baby Pyjamas compare to zip onesies and layers?
"Its definitely easier to take off just pants than the awkward zip up and bending the legs in and out to change the nappy without having a cold bubba." - Stacey
"I’m still up 2-3 times a night with my little one so the having the 2 piece is making my mid night changes easier for the baby and for me" - Hannah
"Personally, I think the two piece design is probably better suited to older babies or toddlers. During the night nappy changes, I found it a little tricky getting his legs fully through the pants as he’s quite wriggly - in this regard I would say the zip onesies are superior." - Abby
"Super easy given the stretchy material it was easy to pip her legs in and out." - Bailie
How did you find the shoulder press studs on the Baby Pyjamas?
"Easy to use and helpful in the small size to give that nice snug fit without having to pull over bubby's head without the snaps". - Stacey
"My child hates getting dressed so having the press studs makes it easier to get over her hair easier without less hassle" - Hannah
"The shoulder press studs were great. My baby has a HUGE head so often gets angry at me putting shirts over his head. It eased his discomfort and made me a lot happier changing him too. I think they’re a design must." - Abby
"Loved this ! It was a great idea to help give a snug fit around the neck but also ease of changing over heads, no squeezing through the hole." - Bailie

How would you describe the quality of the Baby Pyjamas?
"The qualtiy was as good as I would expect from Ergopouch, they've washed well, and been used in excess and still look as good as new!" - Stacey
"The quality is 10/10 feels the same after2-3 washes as it did getting it out of the packet! The material is thicker than most onesies so feels good on her and pair it with an ergo pouch sleeping bag and she is set for the cold winter nights" - Hannah
"They were soft, and despite the 0.2 tog rating, didn’t feel thin at all. They kept their colour, softness and shape through multiple washes and the stitching remained. There were no flaws in the quality of these pyjamas at all." - Abby
"Amazing
No fading with washes or drier use
No pulling or piling
Remained soft and luxurious" - Bailie

Finally, would you purchase the Baby Pyjamas again?
"Yes- I've been super happy with the ease of use, comfort and quality as well as the added reasurance and taking the guesswork out of the layers to use under pyjamas, ill definitely be buying more in the next sizes." - Stacey
"Yes-You pay for the quality my first our has lasted all 5 children and I have 3 boys and live on a farm so it’s had some good wear and still feels amazing" - Hannah
"Yes- I would buy them for an older child (taking multiple nappy changes out of the equation) and as long as my child wasn’t so ‘chunky’The waistband if thicker would have made this product better. I would have no hesitation in buying them for my two year old as his body shape is different and I don’t change him during the night." - Abby
"Yes- Grata price for a very good set of pj’s" - Bailie
